TCC’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

This week, we celebrated our 50 years of accomplishments with a fundraising gala to help fund even more victories in this and the next year. We couldn’t have made it to 50 without supporters like you.

Mayor Rudy Giuliani Addresses TCC’s 50th Anniversary Gala

Fifty years ago, organized teams of grassroots of conservative activists barely existed as a potent force in America. But then Chairman Howard Phillips and Board Member Peter J. Thomas convened a small group of experts who would forever change the political landscape and formed The Conservative Caucus (TCC).

In our early years, Phillips and Thomas visited all 435 Congressional Districts, holding meetings to identify and empower the most politically active conservatives and train them how to build effective local organizations.

Many started state and local chapters that helped win important legislative battles and educated voters in their states and communities. One went on to serve in the United States Senate, and many others rose to serve their communities and our nation.

Our speakers were ‘America’s Mayor’ and confident to President Donald J. Trump, Rudy Giuliani; TCC’s Chairman Peter J. Thomas; TCC’s Honorary Chairman, Rep. Barry M. Goldwater, Jr (Ret.); TCC’s President Jim Pfaff; and Bitcoin expert Justin Malkin.

We paid a heartfelt tribute to Howard Phillips’ family. Present were Howard’s widow Peggy Phillips, their son Doug, and grandsons Josh and Isaac.

Legendary actor and singer Pat Boone recorded a special congratulatory message, as did Rep. Steve Stockman (Ret.), and we showed Trump strategist Roger Stone’s reminiscences about Howard Phillips and his support of our continuing mission.

The messages of the evening were of celebrating our accomplishments, our current independent expenditure campaigns for President Trump and key Senate races, preparing legislative campaigns for the next administration, and further expanding our network of state and local activists.

We built our 50-state grassroots in the early years the hard—and expensive--way. This was long before email, text messaging, Zoom, social media or even free long-distance calls. Our staff routinely prepared and mailed thousands of legislative alerts to our state and local leaders.

We mailed millions of petitions to supporters in all 50 states that politicians feared receiving. We held organizing conferences and training meetings across the country. We ran ‘phone trees’ where each activist leader would call their local volunteers. Our highest tech was ‘Federal Express’ and later on, fax machines and a nationally-carried cable television ‘newsmaker’ show.

Today, we leverage all the instantaneous communications and networking technologies to reach millions more than was possible in our founding decade.

We thank our grassroots volunteers, donors, supporters, our staff and all who worked with us over 50 successful years. And we express our special gratitude to you for your support!
